    Day 1 - CUSCO - PISCACUCHO (Km. 82) - HUAYLLABAMBA

    An early morning departure from Cusco to Piscacucho (2,663mt./8,735ft.) by bus. The trail meanders easily alongside the river with views of snow-capped peaks before reaching the ruins of Llaqtapata. There are views of the Urubamba mountain range and it’s most spectacular peak, Veronica (5,832mt). The campsite is at Huayllabamba (2,928mt). Walking and break times: 5.58 miles/9km. 5-6 hours Meals: (L, D)

    Day 2 - PACAYMAYU – CHAQUICOCHA - WIÑAYWAYNA

    The group climbs an Inca stairway to Runkurakay and begins the final push to the Runkurakay pass (3,962mt). After visiting the impressive ruins of Sayacmarca (3,657mt), continue on to the Phuyupatamarca Ruins (3521mt). The trail becomes increasingly more dramatic as it leads down to the next campsite at Wiñaywayna. Walking and break times: 9.92 miles/16km. 8-9 hours Meals: (B, L, D)

    Day 3 - HUAYLLABAMBA –WARMIHUAÑUSCA - PACAYMAYU

    Today will be the most strenuous part of the trek going up to Llulluchapampa where the hike becomes truly spectacular with scenery that more than compensates for the effort. Vegetation thins and the day warms as we approach the highest point of the trail - Warmiwañusqa Pass (4,236mt). Camp on the Pacaymayo Valley (3,526mt). Walking and break times: 7.45 miles/12km. 6-7 hours Meals: (B, L, D)

    Day 4 - WIÑAYWAYNA – INTI PUNKU – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

    Alter having enjoyed our breakfast at around 5:00am, we will be heading with our flashlight in the direction of Sun Gate (IntiPunku, 2,790mt / 9,154ft), where we will watch the Sun rise over Machu Picchu and Waynapicchu. At the archaeological site of Machu Picchu (2,360mt / 7,730ft) you will be able to enjoy breathtaking views and the cultural charm. You will have some free time to spend at the archaeological site before taking the train to return to Cusco. Walking and break times: 3.1 miles/5km. 1.5 hours Meals: (B)

    Optional: If you would like to spend an extra day in Machupicchu, please advise us so we can change the date on your return train ticket to Cusco. We can provide a guide and hotel for the extra day at an additional cost. Please be aware that you will have to pay for a second day entrance ticket to the Machupicchu ruins.
